Keynote
Liam Halligan
, Economist, Author and Broadcaster

'The Big Picture - Global Economic Outlook'

Liam Halligan is an economist, author and broadcaster – who also has extensive business experience. He is best known for his long-standing weekly “Economics Agenda” column in The Sunday Telegraph – which enjoys a large international following and has been recognized with a British Press Award.
Along with his Telegraph role, Liam writes regularly for The Spectator and The Sun and has previously worked for The Financial Times (as Political Correspondent), The Economist (reporting from Moscow) and between 1999 and 2006 was Economics Correspondent at Channel 4 News.
He continues to research, write and present Dispatches documentaries for Channel 4 – and has won Wincott Business Broadcasting Award an unprecedented four times.
Liam has also held research posts at the International Monetary Fund and the London School of Economics. He holds degrees in economics from the University of Oxford and Warwick University

'Trust in the Age of Fake Realities –
Why the Virtual Economy needs more Common Sense'

The founder and head of the W.I.R.E. think tank has spent many years analysing interdisciplinary developments in business and society, focusing on the implications of digitisation in the life sciences, financial services, media, infrastructure and mobility. He is the publisher of the ABSTRAKT book series, author of a number of publications and a keynote speaker at international conferences.
With W.I.R.E., he advises decision-makers on the development of long-term strategies, innovation projects and supports companies in the redesign of future-oriented spaces for employees and the exchange with clients.
After studying biochemistry at the ETH Zurich, he initially joined Hoffman-La Roche’s medical research team. He subsequently went on to work at Roland Berger Strategy Consultants as a management consultant and at the Gottlieb Duttweiler Institute. Stephan is a member of the Governing Board of the aha! Swiss Allergy Centre and was member of the Innovation Council of Innosuisse, the federal agency concerned with promoting science-based innovation.

Dr. François Simoens, CTO at CEA-Leti

'Photonics & Machine Vision'

François Simoen carried out seven years of research in the accelerator field at CEA Saclay, before joining CEA-Leti in Grenoble in 2003 with the position of program manager and expert in infrared and
THz sensors.
From 2015 to 2018, he has been the Marketing and Strategy Manager for the imaging technologies and systems developed at Leti from X-ray to Far-Infrared. Since 2019 he acts as the Director of the LETI strategic program named ‘miniaturized LIDAR – CPS’.


Guillaume Pinto, COO at AnotherBrain

'Artificial Intelligence Learning at the Edge — Application to Integration-Free Quality Control'

Guillaume currently holds the position of COO at AnotherBrain where he leads the operations of product development and business development. He joined the company on the very first day in 2017. Prior to joining AnotherBrain, Guillaume was the CTO & program manager for consumer products at Parrot, a worldwide leader in consumer and automotive electronics. Over the past 11 years, more than 40 electronic products have been successfully launched under his supervision, including market leading Bluetooth hands-free kits, audio products, the first line of Android based in vehicle infotainment systems, innovative IoT devices and the best in class lightweight consumer drones.
Throughout his career, Guillaume has a proven track record in management of multi-disciplinary technical teams of 250+ engineers and business developers and leadership on innovative complex programs and product strategy. He is fluent in French, Russian and English and has authored or co-authored 15 patents. He graduated from Ecole Polytechnique and Stanford University.

Prof. Dr. Jürgen Beyerer, Director at Fraunhofer IOSB

'Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence for Automated Visual Inspection'

Jürgen Beyerer is a full professor for informatics at the Institute for Anthropomatics and Robotics at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) since March 2004 and director of the Fraunhofer Institute of Optronics, System Technologies and Image Exploitation (IOSB) in Ettlingen, Karlsruhe, Ilmenau, Lemgo, and Görlitz.
He is Spokesman of the Fraunhofer Group for Defense and Security VVS and he is member of acatech, National Academy of Science and Engineering. Furthermore, he is Head of team 7 of the platform „Lernende Systeme“ and Spokesman of the Competence Center Robotic Systems for Decontamination in Hazardous Environments (ROBDEKON).
Research interests include automated visual inspection, signal and image processing, pattern recognition, metrology,
information theory, machine learning, security, system theory, autonomous systems and automation.

Pantaley Dimitrov, Senior Director at Simon-Kucher

'Profitable Growth with TopLine Power'

Pantaley Dimitrov is a Senior Director responsible for the B2B Technology and Industrial practice at Simon-Kucher & Partners.
He has over 10 years of consulting experience in sales, marketing, pricing and digitalization. In his several years as project manager he conceptually designed and accompanied the implementation of a large number of projects. His customers include ABB, Heidelberger Druckmaschinen, KÄRCHER, Krauss Maffei, Netstal, Pepperl+Fuchs and many others.
Besides the professional experience at Simon-Kucher, Mr. Dimitrov is involved in a medium-sized e-commerce platform for industrial goods.
 

Dr. Peter Ebert, Editor-in-chief at inVision (TeDo Verlag)..

Dr.-Ing. Peter Ebert has been working as an editor for machine vision for over 20 years. Since 2012 he has been editor-in-chief of the trade journal inVISION, which deals with the topics machine vision, embedded vision and 3D metrology. He is also responsible for the weekly inVISION newsletter, the official industry newsletter of the world's leading trade fair VISION.


Dr. Petko Dinev, CEO at Imperx

'The Ecosystem for Vision in Bulgaria'

Dr. Dinev has more than 30 years of experience in the field of optics and digital imaging. He has a M.Sc. degree in Applied Physics from Sofia University, Sofia, Bulgaria, and a M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Florida Atlantic University, Boca Raton, Florida. He held both academic and industrial positions, including Assistant Professor in Physics and Optics at Technical University, Sofia, Bulgaria; Member of Technical Staff at Sarnoff Corp., Princeton, NJ; Senior Research Fellow at Concord Camera Corp., Hollywood, Florida. In 2001, Dr. Dinev founded Imperx Inc., and is serving as CTO and CEO. During his career he was responsible for new products development, and he successfully introduced to market numerous cameras - ranging from consumer digital cameras, advanced high-definition cameras, to special application military and space imaging systems. In 1998, his doctoral dissertation on "Ultrasound Brain Imaging" was awarded with the prestigious Merrill Lynch Forum Innovation Grants Competition. Dr. Dinev has 9 patents and 23 publications. Dr. Dinev is an active member of the advisory board for “Information Technologies and Operation Management” Department at Florida Atlantic University, Boca Raton, Florida. During his career Dr. Dinev was serving as a board member for “Imaging Technology Commercial Space” Center at Florida Atlantic University, Boca Raton, Florida, and “Eye Life AS”, Narvik, Norway.
